Pricing and Markets

What are your commissions or fees?

Financial Spread Betting with ETX Capital is free from trading commissions (account fees, Stamp Duty and Capital Gains Tax)*, however you do pay a spread. See below.

What is a spread?

The spread is the difference between the buying and selling price of a financial market or product. It represents the market-maker's potential profit or loss on a transaction.

For example, say the FTSE Daily Cash has a price of 5894-5896 points. That means that you could sell for 5894 points and buy for 5896 points. The spread would be 2 points.

What Markets do you offer?

Financial Spread Betting with ETX Capital offers you the opportunity to spread bet on the following asset classes:

How are daily cash markets calculated?

Daily cash markets quoted by ETX Capital have an underlying futures market related to them and are calculated by adjusting the futures market price by a fair value amount. The fair value represents the theoretical value of dividends payable between today and the expiry of the Future and the cost of carry for the index over the same period. Our daily cash prices are moved by their associated futures price and whilst they will reflect the underlying cash price they might not necessarily be exact, however, the settlement price of the daily markets will be the official settlement price of the relevant index.

How are you able to price Wall Street Daily Cash when the Dow Jones Index is closed?

As explained above, our cash prices are derived by reference and adjustment to a futures price. We can quote the Wall Street Daily Cash as long as the Wall Street Futures are open. Since we quote the futures on a near 24 hour basis we are able to offer a Daily Cash price when the official Dow Jones Index is closed.

What is the difference between Daily Cash and Daily Rolling contracts?

Both markets represent the underlying cash price (or spot price) of a particular market, however the Daily Cash markets are daily contracts that expire at the end of each markets close and settled basis the official settlement price of the relevant index.

A Daily Rolling contract however does not expire and if left open will be rolled over to the next day. An overnight financing adjustment is applied to your account for each and every day the contract is left open.
