Adding and Withdrawing Funds

How do I deposit funds into my account?

If you are based in the UK, simply log in and click on the Your account section, then select Add funds. Take me to the "Add funds" page now.

If you have a bank account based outside of the UK, please call the Customer Service team on +44 (0) 20 7392 1494, Monday to Friday from 07:30–19:30 UK time to discuss how to deposit funds by card over the telephone.

Alternatively, if you have a bank account based outside of the UK and would prefer to make an international bank transfer, please note that your bank will make an outgoing transaction charge for which you are responsible.

Any destination charges deducted by our bank upon receipt of your funds will be reimbursed to your trading account as a "cash adjustment". If you have any questions ahead of making a deposit by international transfer, please call the Customer Service team on +44 (0) 20 7392 1494, Monday to Friday from 07:30–19:30 UK time, or email us at customerservice@etxcapital.co.uk.

Which cards can I use to fund my account?

You can use Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, MasterCard Debit, Maestro or Solo cards to fund your account. We currently do not accept American Express. Once your transaction is verified and approved (this process takes a few seconds), your account will be credited instantly.

Are third parties able to fund my account?

No, third party funding is not permitted. ETX Capital maintains strict procedures which restrict any funding from third parties including close relatives. Clients should deposit funds from a personal bank account in their own name if they hold an individual trading account in their own name with ETX Capital.

Can I fund my personal trading account using my business account?

No, unfortunately not. Business bank accounts are as classed as "third parties". However, in exceptional circumstances, ETX Capital may consider accepting funds from a sole trader. For all other categories of business, it is not possible to fund your ETX Capital trading account from a business bank account.

Can I make payments to a bank account in another person’s name?

No, unfortunately not. In accordance with our Third Party Policy, ETX Capital is unable to make any third party payments. If you wish to transfer funds to a third party, ETX Capital will transfer the funds to your personal bank account and you will then be able to pay the third party yourself.

Do you accept cash deposits?

ETX Capital does not accept any cash deposits.

Does it cost me money to fund my account?

There is no charge for depositing funds using a debit card.

Credit card companies will most likely charge you to deposit funds; credit card deposits being usually treated as cash advances by credit card companies. Cash advances are generally subject to a higher rate of interest than standard transactions so you should check the terms and conditions of your card carefully. If you deposit funds by international bank transfer, please note that your bank will make an outgoing transaction charge for which you are responsible. Any destination charges deducted by our bank upon receipt of your funds will be reimbursed to your trading account as a "cash adjustment". I attempted to add funds online but received the error message ‘Declined’

Your transaction has unfortunately been declined by your bank or card provider. This can happen if you are using your card for the first time to fund an online trading account or if you are attempting to deposit an amount over your allowed limit.

Please contact your bank or card provider to have the block on your transaction released.

You will then need to complete a new online transaction with ETX Capital to successfully add funds.

I attempted to add funds online but received the error message ‘CV2AVS Declined’

Please check that you have entered your card’s 3–digit security number correctly. You will then need to complete a new online transaction with ETX Capital to successfully add funds.

If you have recently moved and no longer live at the address at which your account was originally opened, please email us at customerservice@etxcapital.co.uk with details, together with proof, of your new address. Once we have updated our records, you will then need to complete a new online transaction with ETX Capital to successfully add funds. Please note that if your account is registered to an address outside of the UK, it is unfortunately not currently possible to fund your account using a debit or credit card. You will need to deposit funds by international bank transfer. In the case of an international bank transfer, your bank will make an outgoing transaction charge for which you are responsible. Any destination charges deducted by our bank upon receipt of your funds will be reimbursed to your trading account as a “cash adjustment”. I attempted to add funds online but received the error message ‘Speed Limit’

There is a speed limit set on our website which means that you have to wait 2 minutes before you can use the same card again for a further deposit. Please wait 2 minutes before attempting to deposit funds using the same card.

I attempted to add funds online but received the error message ‘CCERROR: CCPLAYERID: 123456;CCLastName’

Please check that you have entered your full name correctly. You will then need to complete a new online transaction with ETX Capital to successfully add funds.

Please note that it is not possible to fund your trading account from a bank account in another person’s name.

I attempted to add funds online but received the error message ‘Bad Checksum’

A checksum is the last digit of the long number of your credit or debit card; it is calculated using an algorithm using the other numbers of your card number. Please check and re-enter your card number.

I attempted to add funds online but received the error message ‘Referred’

Please call the Customer Service team on +44 (0) 20 7392 1494, Monday to Friday from 07:30–19:30 UK time, to bring this to our attention. We will then need to speak to your bank or card provider to obtain authorization for the transaction.

I attempted to add funds online but received the error message ‘Card already exists’

Your account allows you to save a maximum of four current debit or credit cards to it. Please call the Customer Service team on +44 (0) 20 7392 1494, Monday to Friday from 07:30–19:30 UK time, if you are attempting to use one of your saved cards but are receiving this particular error message.

When adding funds online how quickly will the funds become available to trade with?

Once your online deposit transaction is verified and approved (this process takes a few seconds), your account will be credited instantly.

How do I with withdraw funds from my account?

Log in and click on the Your account section, then select Withdraw funds. Take me to the “Withdraw funds” page now. Alternatively you can call the Customer Service team and request a withdrawal over the telephone on +44 (0) 20 7392 1494, Monday to Friday from 07:30–19:30 UK time. Please note that it is not possible to send funds from your trading account to a bank account in another person’s name.

Does it cost me money to withdraw funds from my account?

ETX Capital does not make a charge to process a withdrawal. By way of background information, withdrawals can be processed in a number of ways.

Bank transfers: UK Bank account

All withdrawal requests will be processed within 24 hours of receipt from Monday to Friday.

Sums of up to £100,000 will be processed as a Faster Payment if the withdrawal request is submitted before 2:45pm on a given working weekday and your bank participates in the Faster Payments scheme. Requests received after 2:45pm will be processed on the next working weekday.

Sums of over £100,000 will be processed as a Faster Payment if the withdrawal request is submitted before 3:30pm on a given working weekday and your bank participates in the Faster Payments scheme. Requests received after 3:30pm will be processed on the next working weekday.

Should your bank not participate in the Faster Payments scheme, your withdrawal will be sent as a BACS transfer which take 3–4 working days to reach your bank account.

International transfers: Non UK Bank account

All withdrawal requests will be processed within 24 hours of receipt from Monday to Friday. The international transfer time varies from country to country. This is normally 2 to 5 working days.

Cheques

Cheques will normally be dispatched within 24 hours of receipt of the withdrawal request from Monday to Friday.
